About

Why we built Sightline.

It started with a simple, frustrating gap: the people responsible for compliance often can't read the tools that are supposed to help them.

Talk to compliance leads, IT admins, and the consultants who serve small organizations, and you hear the same thing: the hardest part isn't finding risk — it's getting a decision-maker to understand it well enough to fund the fix. The existing tools generate findings in language built for security professionals. For everyone else, that's a wall.

Sightline is our answer. It connects to the tools you already run, maps what it finds to the frameworks you carry, and — crucially — translates the result into plain English: what we checked, why it matters to you, and what to do. It produces a board-ready verdict and a dashboard a non-technical person can actually navigate. And it keeps you honest: coverage is stated plainly, and framework mappings are clearly marked until a real professional signs off.

We believe the organizations with the fewest security resources are exactly the ones who most need to be proactive — and that, in the age of AI-accelerated risk, “we'll deal with it if something happens” is no longer a strategy. Our goal is simple: make securing yourself something anyone can do.

Why “Sightline”

A sightline is the clear, unobstructed line from where you stand to what you're trying to see. Compliance usually isn't like that — it's a fog of findings, frameworks, and jargon between you and a simple answer: am I secure, and can I prove it? We named the product Sightline because that's the whole job: clear the obstructions and give you a direct view of your posture, in plain English, from wherever you sit.
